Georgia Native Hip-Hop Artist Poochie is “Born 2 Win”
LOS ANGELES, CA – If there’s anyone who knows what it means to beat the odds, it’s Christopher Prince. Prince, who is known by his stage name “Poochie”, comes from a small town in Georgia called Albany. Throughout his younger years, he was constantly faced with hard times and struggles stemming from poverty. After being introduced to music thanks to his grandmother, Poochie soon discovered his escape from the negatives of reality. He often found himself shutting off from the world, and channeling any hardships into a positive. And that positive, for Poochie, was creating his own beautiful sound and lyrics.
After moving to Ohio to pursue a rap career, Poochie eventually connected with industry legends such as Bizzy Bone from Bone Thugs N Harmony. Life seemed like it was finally panning out the way Poochie always wanted it to. However, this came to a brief halt after having to serve time in jail. “After getting into trouble when I was younger, I was motivated to turn my life back around. I found myself recording all the time, and that’s when I really found my sound. Ever since then, I’ve never stopped pursuing it,” said Poochie. This form of musical therapy delivered the artist from the unfortunate events that transpired, and he began truly understanding what music meant to him.
Poochie doesn’t just simply create music for the fun of it. Through his music, he reaches out to a certain crowd so they too can realize that music can help and save them. “I use my struggles for the better. This is not just a job for me- it’s something I love wholeheartedly. Everyone has a story to tell. The way I am still living is the story I am telling,” said the artist. In dropping his album, “If The Trap Could Talk”, and his single “Born 2 Win”, he accomplishes his goal in delivering his unique story. It’s no surprise that his fans love what they’re hearing.
So, what’s up next for Poochie? He is currently putting together his promo tour to promote “If The Trap Could Talk”. No stranger to endless hours of putting the work in, Poochie is also working on part two of the album. The southern, melodic artist defies any genres, and refuses to let society get him down. He believes music is supposed to be an actual feeling, and he accomplishes getting this message across through his lyrics.
