For those of you who maybe unfamiliar with the name Blasfima Sinna, let us introduce you to one of Edinburgh’s leading emcee’s who has just released his brand new EP ‘Capital Letters 2’. He has a talent which can’t be denied and creativity which is extremely hard to find, as well as being a diverse and focused artist. He has been active in the Scottish Hip-Hop scene since 1997 and as a turntablist under the name DJ U-Turn qualified for numerous DMC Championships and even winning the Scottish DMC Championships in 2005. He went on to deejay on the same bill as numerous acts including DJ Premier, People Under The Stairs, DJ Cash Money, Lord Finesse, Lord Jazz and DJ Ali Shaheed Muhammad from A Tribe Called Quest.
In 2004 he adopted the name Blasfima Sinna and started to pen rhymes and eventually recorded a demo tape that ended up with him working with Dark Rumours aka Madhat & Riddlah. This is where the tempo changed and before long everyone was recognizing his skill and ability, as he even took to making beats. In 2006 Madhat, Riddlah and Blasfima Sinna created a new act called The Evil Residents where he started doing a string live shows and eventually signed with Edinburgh label MCF Records. In 2009 he released two projects ‘The Capital Letters EP’ and the ‘Quarantine’ album, before leaving the label in 2010 and independently releasing ‘The Medici Project’ produced by Nasty P.
Last year saw Blasfima Sinna set up his own label You Sonix Records and released the album ’12 Time 4 Mind’ which was well received by real rap fans. Known for creating unique styles to his rhymes and experimenting in different genres, this open minded artist has cemented himself in Scottish Rap history. Now with this new release we get some killer solo tracks as well as collaborations with King Response, Werd and Conscious Route and production from Konnsky, Nasty P, Pryzmat, UV Beatz and C-Bas. Together these talented artists bring a full phat Hip-Hop project to you from the gritty streets of Scotland’s capital city. This is music for those ears that are tired of undiluted nonsense and with this release a new era is born with Scotland’s Hip-Hop movement. Blasfima Sinna has arrived and with plenty more in store make sure you take note.

Byron Williams a/k/a AB.Y.SS was born & raised in Bridgeport, CT. He began writing early in life, winning several awards such as: “The Young Author Award” in the sixth grade for writing an entire book. AB.Y.SS developed a serious love for writing in high school. AB.Y.SS was also very athletic as a student. With his favorite pass time being basketball. After a brief stint as a starting point guard in college; a very disappointed AB.Y.SS turns to the streets. He soon became a product of the corners of Fifth Street (a/k/a Bloody Fifth) and Stratford Avenue; notoriously known for its drugs, violent crimes and the crime scene for many murders.
He still managed to hold on to his passion and first love, writing and music. AB.Y.SS has been a featured artist on several mix tapes. Yet with AB.Y.SS having a prosperous run in the streets, a solid reputation in his hood and still no cases (something he loves to brag about to this day). AB.Y.SS still couldn’t shake his mother’s voice out of his head, that this lifestyle was a dead end. Finally, her words sticking, AB.Y.SS realizes that she is right and decides to enlist in the U.S. Navy where he served four years.
Coming home from the service brought AB.Y.SS to a painful place in his life. After losing 5 family members within an 18 month span, including his mother and best friend Loretta Williams; who passed away tragically in his arms. A lost and confused AB.Y.SS once again picked up a pen and a new fire was lit.
A more determined and business minded AB.Y.SS emerged. He started his own record label called Eastwood Ent. Also to his credit, he has written several music videos, directed by Edwin Escobar of Escobar Films.
AB.Y.SS’s motto: “It’s Now or Never”. Welcome to CT
